Ok, I've been asking about recording and have gotten good advice. I've decided to either use my current PC or build another desktop PC. I'd like to get some opinions on the systems mentioned in the topic, or anything that's near this type of product. IF you have info, ideas, opinions or anything else, please post them.

Well, first off... The Roland package and the Tascam are both control surfaces with audio interfaces built in. The mackie cont. is just a control surface so you really can't compare them. I would recommend the Tascam. It's got 18 channels of I/O plus 4 MIDI channels. Plus, it's expandable. The Roland looks nice but has only 15v phantom power on the mic pres (almost EVERY pro condenser uses 48v). I really don't have any earthly idea why Roland did that... otherwise it would be great. The mic pres on the Tascam fw-1884 come strait out of the DM-24 ($2500 digital mixer) and the A/D/A converters are out of the Tango (I think) from Frontier design group.
Well, good louck and lemme know if ya need anything else!
