Hi, i´m trying to make a direct recording from my Digitech RP100 guitar processor to my pc, and i get a lousy sound (distorted sound) on overdrived sounds, but with headphones on it sounds great, even conecting from the headphone out to the line out in the sound card it sounds bad. ive tried all the combinations...

the other day i played with the RP100 directly to a PA system (peavey powered 12 channle mixer i think) and it sounded just the same as in the pc, but a few months before i tried an Korg ax1000G and it sounded great on the pa...

WHAT DO I NEED TO RECORD THE OVERDRIVES FROM THE DIGITECH RP100??? DO I NEED A DIRECT BOX???

i´m not thinking on buying to much equipment, i´m a guitar player not an recording engeenier, i just want to be able to record my demos, and i´m tired of recording them with my pc microphone in front of the amp...

my equipment is the following:

Ibanez RG470JB
Marshall ValveState 8040
Digitech RP100 guitar processor
Boss DD-3, CH-1, Cs-1, dunlop crybaby

Intel PIII750mhz
Intel 815mhz motherboard
194Mb Ram
Integrated Soundmax Audio Card
Cubase VST 5.1, Cubase 9, Edirol Sintethizers, etc...

thanks....

I had the same problem ... I found that the factory presets were too loud. By editing the presets -- lower the output, set the levels of distortion, compression, and the noise gate, etc., --the unit became usable for live puposes.

Hook the pedal up to an amplifier and set the volume by the ol' A/B method (pedal on, pedal off) and adjust accordingly. I use it live, haven't tried it for recording. Hope this helps.

ok, i think my poor english doesnt makes me comunicate too good... the problem i have is on my own presets, at any level of the unit or the amp simulator at any gain setting... my problem is that the unit saturates the pa or my pc sound card, it makes a distorted sound OVER the overdrive of the unit. It only happens with the overdrive settings (doesn matters wich gain setting, if i have low gain, it very little the sound but its not the original overdrive, it sounds different) and on Pa sistems...

it sounds like if you connect your guitar directly to a home stereo, that kind of distorted sound... or if you connect your amp output directly to a PA

i think its a problem with the output, if its an high gain output or something like that...

thanks
