#1. I am useing the Roland JV-1010 sound module and I have the sound running to my computer through the R and L output slots in order to hear it through my computer speakers. I'm useing a Y-adapter to do it. The sounds sound nice, however, it only comes in mono through the left speaker. I even took out the left output plug and left the right in and it still plays through the left speaker. I tried everything, how can I get stereo? The audio comes in stereo. It's just the midi comes in mono. Help please.

#2. I have the cakewalk homestudio 2002 software and so far it's nice. I'm still figureing out more about the software. Does it have it's own sample sounds or do I need to get software with sounds for it? I couldn't seem to get them to work right. Somebody help me.

Thanks for the help

I think I can answer your first question. I had a similar experience when hooking up my monitors. My soundcard only had 1 output for speakers so I bought a Y adapter and sent the audio out using two cables. Well I got the wrong Y adapter. Mine was 2 stereo to 1 stereo. So the adatper gave me all the stereo info on 1 cable which was sent to one speaker only. Basically my solution was to find a Y that split the signal into left and right channels separately. I now use an 1/8" to RCA adatper from Radio Shack to split my stereo signal coming out of my soundcard into left and right. Sounds like you have a similar issue. Check your Y adatper and see if it is meant for two stereo signals to one or two mono signals to one stereo.

Summary: You need a Y adapter that accepts two mono signals, left and right, and merges them into a 1 stereo signal. If you already have that then I don't know what to tell you.
