HELP! me connect my synthesizer to my computer

I have a Casio WK-1630 synthesizer, and I am trying to connect it to my computer through my soundcard using a midi cable. I am using Digital Orchestra software, and I am not getting any sound into my computer. Is there anything I am doing wrong?

First, I hope you understand MIDI does not transmit "sound" to the computer, only instructions. In order for you to have sound
from your keyboard you need to have the MIDI signal going to and from your computer and you must have speakers built in or connected to your keyboard. Use "local off" on your keyboard (if it has that setting) to be sure your MIDI signal is going round trip. Be sure to set your sequencer to "MIDI Thru" (under Options).
Also check your volume controls...
