Greetings,
Using Sonar 2 software on an XP machine. We use the software to record audio clips that we import into our Interactive voice response system that callers access to check claim status. Also, using a direct Pro microphone, pretty good quality, do not suspect a problem there. Problem is that when we record clips we must export each one to our network. Then take the wav file and convert it to a Voc file. I believe voc is soundblaster. The voc files are what our IVR system uses to play the messages. It seems we are losing a bit of quality and now users want us to record the clips over, what a pain there almost 1200 of them. Anyway, the sampling rate for the IVR is 8000 and I was told by the IVR provider that we need to record our clips at that rate. I dont believe this is the problem, plus I cant even set the sampling rate that low in the software. When we play the wav file it sounds very good so it must be something in the conversion. Specifically when the S sound is spoken it is raspy or lispy. Any ideas on how to take care of this. It would be nice if we could export the audio as a voc file instead of having to convert from a wav to voc for our IVR.
