View Full Version : Changing "Snap To" value in Cubase VST/Cakewalk/etc?

Simple question: Can anyone tell me how to modify my "Snap To" value in Cubase VST? Right now it nudges everything by the beat and that is far to coarse to be useful. I'd like to set it to snap to SMPTE frames if possible, or at least in beat subticks. I can't find a command (or at least recognize it for what it is), and my 450-page "Fast Guide to Cubase VST" doesn't tell me how.

I'm using Cubase VST Score 5.0, but I'm sure Cakewalk, Sonar, etc., are roughly equivalent in this area. Even if they aren't, the way you do it may point me in the right direction.

Any help is greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance.

Well, in Sonar there's a Snap Resolution setting where you select the snap interval. In the Piano Roll there's a snap button at the top with a "pullout" for resolution, and in the Track View there's a toggle button in the track toolstrip and you can right-click in the timeline to choose the interval.

HTH!

D-OH!

The Snap To function is at the top of the track editor window. It's so obvious I didn't even think of looking there. . . yeah, that's it.. . too obvious. . . yeah. . .

 and :o
