I apologize in advance for my ignorance. I actually have quite a bit of experience in audio and video recording and editing - all analog and all years and years old. So, please forgive this old-timer.
I am hoping to make different applications with some gear - none of which I have purchased yet. Hopefully, the gear I am thinking about getting will serve the purpose, but I would welcome any recommendations.
I first of all, want the set up(s) to be portable. I am considering purchasing a Mac G4 laptop with a superdrive. I will be recording audio interviews and narration, so an M box seems to be the way to go. However, it is possible that there might be more than one interviewee, so is there a way to accommodate that situation and still have some editing flexibility? I have not investigated microphones thoroughly yet, but they need to be superior with regard to speaking, not necessarily music recording. Since I will be conducting some seminars and hope to be recording them for possible future use, is there a wireless Lavilier mic that would be dependable enough in quality to use in conjunction with the M box? I could use a wired lavilier, but that would obviously be a pain.
The other application would be to also record DV (eventually multi-camera) of the seminar (and possibility interviews) and synch it with the audio track from the M box. I would obviously need a synch track, is there a way to do that with either or both ProTools and/or Final Cut Express?
Perhaps what I am thinking about doing is more complicated than that, but it seems to be doable from the equipment I have reviewed and folks I have spoken with.
Thanks in advance for your patience and advice.
