I am considering buying an Alesis hd24 and a fireport. I have a complete computer setup(pc) with samplitude2496, Wavelab, Sound Forge Acid Pro, etc. and loads of DirectX and vst plug ins. What program will work best to edit and process HD 24 tracks once I get them into the pc.

I have HD24 and a fireport - and it is grrrrreat for transferring audio to the PC - 30 seconds for 24 tracks of 7 minute song - great for backing up - burning to DVD etc.

The only thing I don't like is it only seems to work under Windows 2000 or Windows XP - which is a bit annoying when you have a really stable system running on Windows 98.

Upgraded to XP and now we have an interesting box in the corner of the studio which throws a tantrum every time you want it to do anything other than transfer data from the HD24.

Hours of work to correct it me-thinks.

System spec is Athlon 2200 - 1024mb ddr226 - Windows XP - Motu 2408 mkiii - logic audio 5.5 usb midisport 8x8

Anyone had any problems or better still solutions with this?

Yep I purchased them both. My pc is a very stable 98se machine as well. I tried to upgrade to xp pro, couldnt get the upgrade to finish, thank God for Norton ghost! I just finally built an XP Pro machine just to do transfers, with removable drives so I can then edit on the 98se machine.
