Hello-
I've recently started my home recording quest after years of meddling with second hand audio equipment. I've been trying to use computer software such as cakewalk guitar tracks, cakewalk pro audio 9, cakewalk home studio, and cubases... My problem happends when i record... i record the first track with no problems, although when i press record or play, or when a clip is first brought into the mix, a loud pop happends. From there, after the initial pop, the track records normally. I then move to the next track, arm, and record (with the initial pop), the playback of the first track is fine, and i can hear the recording in progress as well through the speakers. When i am done with the 2 tracks, i try to play them back, but it refuses. It will only allow 1 track, on solo mode, to be played back at any one time. I tried messing with the bit depth and sampling rates and such, but nothing seemed to work. All programs i have tried have had the same problems. I have a Yamaha Ds-xg pci audio codec (WDM) sound card, which i recently updated the drivers for, but i'm not sure if maybe my processor is too weak, i don't hae enough disk space, my sound card is crap, or i'm just not adjusting something correctly? If anyone has had similar problems, please respond! THANKS!
