View Full Version : MOTU 2408, DP3,YAMAHA 01v
If I want to run my keyboards into my 01v, do I run the signals into the interface to my computer(the 2408) via lightpipe cables or do i do a straight analogue thing?
I want to set it up so there is as little slapback when I do overdubs.
Does this make sense.

Hmm...
Does the 2408 support ASIO Direct Monitoring? I've got that on my RME hammerfall and have no latency issues as you describe...and I run analog outs into an O1V and then into the computer via lightpipe.
Didn't MOTU distribute new drivers a couple days ago?

I don't use cubase but I'm sure it has the same feuture DP and Audiodesk have. I know that in DP and Audiodesk under the Basics:hardware io settings.
Check the direct hardware playthrough options. the only drawback is that you wont be able to monitor through effects. But your latency problem wont be an issue any more.
As far as lightpipe/anologue goes if your keyboard supports lightpipe... all I can say is DO IT BABY!!! If your recording digital try to keep everything in the digital domain. avoid converters at all cost. As exelent as the 2408 a/d & d/a converters are, the conversion from d/o* & o/d* is far less destructive than a/d & d/a.
