dbx provocal Vs. art dps di/o pre amp

looking to get a cheap mic pre with dig. out. This will be used for recording direct in to audiophile 2496. with a (studio C1, marshall 2001,sm58) any comments on either product. i record mostly Hip-hop, r&b, and pop. I have also though about the Tc helicon voice works or Vocal producer,i dunno, I just really want a good sounding pre. I really dont want to spend anymore than 500.00. ( all my har earned money):) . I know the voice work is about 700. but its a 2birds one stone kinda deal for me with the harmonizer ect... any help is great .

has anyone used the roland mmp2 you can find them under 5 sometimes. it has mic, and mic pre modeling and comp sotfware for compression and eq. ( I think?) Just wondering if its any good
