MOTU FASTLANE with DP3

does anyone know if the MOTU FASTLANE is a good midi product? because ive had problems when using my MIDIMAN usb 1x1. I use DP3 which uses freemidi like the fastlane so i assume it's a better fit than what i have that uses OMS.

I have been a pro tools user for some time, but recently, I`ve been becoming more and more interested in Digital perrformer, would you mind giving me your opinion on the new DP3? I`ve read that you can use PT and DP3 together, but I have no experience with that as of yet.
I just bought a new MDD g4, and my digi001 will not work, so I`m thinking of buying the new digi oo2, but if the dp3 is a good fit for my new computer, and since, none of my older plugs will work with the digioo2, I`m thinking maybe I`ll just jump ship from the digidesign stuff, and try dp3. I know that is a lot of information, but I value your opinion. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
