error 6042

hey guys just wondering if any one can help me !!, i run my protools on pc
and during playback i get this "Pci bus is too bsy for the DAE to communicate with the audio hardware (-6042) i was running on xp but i had a prob with my xp version and am getting that all sorted but in the mean time i am running on windows 98 me, can anyone help me :(

Are you using a SCSI card? This can be caused by having the SCSI speed/bandwidth set too high. It can also be a result of too high a monitor resolution - try 256 colors, which is ample for Pro Tools. Finally, I'm not sure WindowsME is an approved OS for Pro Tools so that could be related to your problem.
