My set up includes Digi001 (Mac), Mackie 1202 VLZ mixer, Apogee Rosetta. Triton pro X/Supernova IIR/Virus C/Kurzweil K2500RS/Roland MC-505.
I do a lot of electronica/Dance stuff (BT/oakenfold etc) I'm planning to add a mic-pre/DI in my signal path. Looking for more headroom/punch/warmth. Any suggestions, as far as which is the best Mic-Pre/DI box for my genre of music and my setup?

Thanks in advance!!!

I'd love to get some input from this as well. I'm looking for a similar setup, but with the additional need of a guitar instrument pre. It may help to specify how many inputs you need and what your price range is. I've been looking into DI/pre's like the Avalon U5, Presonus M-20, Focusrite Track Master, Summit TD-100 & TLA-50, Presonus Blue Tube & Blue Max. But like I said, my primary goal is to increase the warmth of my guitar signal. I'm not quite sure how these rate with electronic devices. I'll be looking into that later.

One question though... how has the Rosetta worked out for you? I'm looking into to either that or the Lucid AD9624 for my Digi001 setup. Did you find that it helped significantly improve the sound/recording of your gear?

Hopefully you'll get some better, tried and tested, feedback. Good luck!

I use to own two Avalons VT-737SP (ahhh...) but I had to sell them due to financial pressures. Needless to say, I've been spoiled since but am willing to settle for something more economical without sacrificing too much sonically. Avalons sounded great for everything but I never tried them with electric guitars, therefore I cannot offer you any advice there.
Although I can say without a doubt that Rosetta 48K (upgradable to 96K) along with Digi001, improves the signal significantly. My recordings are much pristine with it.

As far as inputs on a DI/Mic-pre are concerned, I'm looking for a stereo or dual mono inputs around $1000 price range.
