I have a question. I'm in the market for a DAW and small midi input keyboard. I don't need nor want a terribly complicated DAW software, and I want to be sure that the keyboard can emmulate (at least through the software) other instruments plus drums. Have any suggestions?

Garageband on a Mac should do just fine. Any USB Midi controller will work too.

Thanks for the info. I have a PC. If I have Reason 5, will the Reason 6 upgrade get me to Reason 6 capability or do I have to get the Reason 5 upgrade first, THEN the Reason 6 upgrade to get to R6 capability???
Or do I just need to get Record 1.5 and the Reason 5 upgrade?

No, you can just upgrade to Reason 6 from any version.
