I've just bought a Dell 8200 Inspiron laptop with an Intel P4-1.7Ghz with 512 ddr ram, 32mb Nvidia dedicated ddr ram, 40Gb hard drive and CD/RW.

The question is, after shopping reading and more shopping i've decide I want to supplement this laptop with a Motu 828, a Glyph M-project plus 40Gb fire-wire hard drive, Cubase SX and the midiman 4x4 midi-sport usb that i already have.

Does this sound like a workable combo? Is the 828 a quality sounding interface? Is 40 Gb large enough? I intend on using this to record analog and midi. At the moment, 8 simultaneously recorded tracks should be sufficient. Music type will be mostly worship music and some rock/garage band type of stuff.

Will this be enough computer power. And does the fact that the internal hard drive spin at only 5400 rpm effect anything even though the OS and Audio software will be the only things on that drive?

Thanks
