I have been learning Emagic Logic recently and have run into a weird problem that I can't figure out. The manual is a bit daunting and hasn't helped me in this problem yet. Here's the specifics:

I have a couple Audio Instrument tracks in a song that are using VST instruments as their sound modules (PPG Wave and Absynth respectively). I can record them no problem and the midi info shows up on it's track as it should. When I play back either both tracks or one track at a time and I stop the sequence in the middle of a track, the midi track I am listening to stops abruptly if I don't have that track highlighted in the page where you see all your tracks laid out horizontally. When I restart the sequence, I hear the trail of the sound I just stopped come crashing back in as if it is sitting in a buffer somewhere.

This doesn't happen if I DO have that track highlighted in the track layout page. I can stop the track in the middle, I hear the trail of the midi note playing end as it naturally should and I can restart the sequence with no problems.

I can't seem to find an answer to this in the manual anywhere. Can I convert the midi I have recorded to an audio track somehow to stop this? It seems I should be able to have multiple midi sources playing at once and be able to stop a sequence in the middle and restart it without every midi sound except one that happens to be highlighted come crashing back in sounding really strange.

Thanks,
Chris
