View Full Version : Antares "Native" versions?

Looking at Antares Auto-Tune EVO with either AVO or Harmony Engine EVO, and noticed a significant price difference between the "Native" version and the other versions.
What is the difference?

Native versions run "natively" on your computer's CPU as a RTAS, VST or AU format plugin. The TDM version can also run on special Pro Tools HD processing cards, instead of on the computer's CPU.

So, "stand alone"? Can they still run within the DAW as VST?
Sorry for the ignorance, I'm newish to software instruments and effects.

I don't think either of the ones mentioned above have a stand-alone mode. It depends on the manufacturer, sometimes software supports both plug-in or standalone operation, some doesn't.
I don't see it as an option for either of the titles you mentioned.
You could call and speak with one of our sales engineers to be certain.

I have auto-tune EVO native for Pro Tools. It's a substantial improvement over my older version of AT. I very respected engineer I work with said in his experience Native is a little smoother than TDM, though there may be trade-offs.
