I'm shopping around for a 12-string in the $500-$700 price range new or used. It seems like Ovation might be a good brand for this range, with the Celebrity CS245 or Baladeer 6751.
I want to make sure that whatever guitar I buy will have an effective bracing system and not be suceptible to neck warping. I was looking at Ovation because of their experiements in using plastic back guitars and also the placement of sound holes near the shoulder. I suspect these techniques help to reinforce the guitar body while avoiding some of sound dampening issues that extra bracing for 12-string causes.
I am not specifically looking for elctro/acoustic models, just a decent 12-string in this price range.
Any thoughts on this or other brands I should be considering?
