Avid + Euphonix: What to expect??

Hello gang...

The news is that Avid is eating up Euphonix. Should we expect better and tighter integration of euphonix controllers with third party software, or some sort of half ass integration and/or higher prices in order to sway the rest of us to buy into Pro Tools??

I am a Logic and Cubase junkie and was considering buying an MC Control in the next several months, but with these news I am not sure. Any thoughts???

From everything I've been able to gather (which is a lot) Avid has no intentions of disrupting the MC Control's ability to work with Logic, Cubase, etc. Assuming the purchase even goes though I think you could expect to eventually see Pro Tools implementation added to its list of capabilities.

Thanx DAS for the reply. How about at the high end of the spectrum, like the System 5 consoles? I hope Avid strives for full blown tight integration across all platforms and not some half ass integration in order to strong arm customers into their venerable PT. Any thoughts??

I think you will be happy. As I understand it their general outlook is to widen compatibility on stuff like this, not narrow it.
