hello everyone,,new member here to the forum. currently this is my audio and recording situation

br 8
minidisc recorder
behringer ultra pro sound enhancement rack
blue tube stereo tube preamp
boss dr5
boss gt6 effects processor
fender bass
parker guitar
cordoba classical guitar

I like all kinds of music and rec heavy death metal to jazz/classical and am into ambient and techno music but currently have no keyboard and am not familiar with loops and acid stuff. i find the br8 very limited, especially for mastering, although i need monitors too!lol have fooled around with comp programs like sonar xl2.0 (not a purchased copy if you knowwhat i mean wink wink} just to try out and get midi and audio lag.
i want to make quality rec to cd for possible radio play and for record companies and such. So what is my question? what way should i go? i like the ease of the br8 but i know that comp is the better long term advancement. i find sonar and others to be very complicated and i use my comp for gaming and other things my computer is p4 1.6 512mb 60 gb
any advice on what to get? i know this is a big question and my budget is very limited in the way that im currently disabled and have been so for 8 yrs. buying a serperate pc is not an option for me but these console rec get so out of date quickly. please help with any suggestions. what should i keep in my current equipment , what should i get, what should i get rid of,,anything will help,,,,sorry for the lengh,,,ernest:)

SONAR is said to be one of the simplest of audio and MIDI multitrack programs. If you strictly want to deal in audio, you could use Vegas.

If having a separate PC is not an option, you should at least set it up with some sort of dual boot option: two windows installs on the same or separate partition or a separate boot drive with your audio environment on it. Using your gaming/internet PC for audio is asking for trouble.
