Hello,
I'm currently using Cakewalk Home Studio 2002 on my Dell Optiplex GX300. I've been searching for months on how to go about recording on it live. I have a band and nobody wants to sit down and record track by track all the parts to every song...we just want to play man!!!(but we want it recorded so we can get our music out). Yeah, just like everybody else in this bussiness. So anyway, I need a sound card or (audio interface??) with about 6 inputs, that is compatible with Cakewalk so that when I arm, say 5 tracks for recording, and press record, Cakewalk will record all my instruments individually in seperate tracks so that I can EQ, adjust, add FX, and so on, to each instrument/track. Do you see what I'm saying here? Is there such a device out there that doesn't cost me my soul. I've seen a device by TerraTec and M-Audio that I "THINK" is what I'm looking for. Honestly, I don't exactly what to look for because I don't know if what I want to do is possible. Also, I don't want to have to go out and buy a bunch of other equipment and all that jazz, just something that will give me 6-8 simultaneous recordable tracks that's compatible with Cakewalk Home Studio 2002. All this for the simple fact I want to record everybody playing at once. Note: I have to have everybody on a seperate track.

Oh!! please help me....somebody!?!??:classic:

Maybe something like this?

PS: You should really post this in a different forum. . .

What benefit is the flash card? Would that give me seperate tracks on CAKEWALK? I also need a few more inputs for other instruments...

Where should this be located...what forum I mean?
Thanks

It's a multitrack digital recorder. I was just providing it as an example, to possibly get you on the right track (oh, haha).

You may want to request a Sweetwater catalog. . . there's all KINDS of stuff in there.

As for what forum, now I see why you posted it here. Maybe the mixing forum?
