i'm looking for a laptop that could handle being a d.a.w and my homework.

the homework part was a joke, but i still gotta' do my HW on it. can't afford two computers.

i was looking at an alienware system, which is made for gaming yet, they have great capabilities. i had customized one for 60gb hd, 1024mb ram, and 3.06ghz processor.

i already have a studioprojects c1 mic, joemeek mq3 pre, i'm getting an RNC, have a behringer mx1604a mixer, and a delta44.

i basically need a computer that can support everything, but can handle my audio too. i use cool edit 2.0, nuendo, and some other apps depending on which i feel like using. my computer now is terrible, so i need a new one.

Remember to get a second external drive for your audio, you don't want to mess up your system drive with all the heavy reading/writing of the audio tracks.

Sounds like you're a pc user, if you're open to using a Mac, the prices on the entry level Mac laptops have recently dropped. You can get into an ibook without CD-R for $999.

Make sure whatever you get has firewire, as it's the main way to get audio in and out of a laptop currently.
