I have a serious issue today and i hope somebody out there can help me please.first question is : whats the deal with Norton and Protools TDM? is it a good thing to have Norton antivirus on my G4 867 DP with Protools5.1.3 on it? i heard its not good to have it running in the back and i should uninstall it??
My 2nd problem is, while shutting down yesterday i got a pop up saying
"Noton filesaver Macintosh HD 1 which is my first partition on my hard drive with my OSX & 9.2 classic on it, it says error 16,0861 damage to catalogue file, then Norton offered to fix the problem.i clicked ok then i assumed norton did its thing then the computer shut down.Upon booting back up my system i tried starting Protools but came upon " Make sure Protools hard dware is connected & turned on, click ok when the hardware is ready.Protools will not load up now..
Next problem is i have a Syquest firwire 120 gig drive and when i save sessions to it and try to load up from the syquest drive it gives me eror.051 can you help me with these problems? somebody i can be contacted at 718 930 6587 on my cellphone i'd realy appreciate any help today.and suggestions also of the right and best firwire drives to work with Protools TDM system like mines??.
