View Full Version : new 2408 mK3 clock issue

hey all,

I just picked up one of those new 2408 mk3 boxes a few days ago and I'm still having some trouble with the clock (i think!).

I have a Tascam DM-24 which is slaved to the 2408's clock (24bit/48kHz), and all this hooked to a PC running SONAR. I currently have banks A and B connection through T-DIF, and bank C = S/PDIF.

Whenever I play back audio from SONAR, I get clicks and pops (well basically just clicks, but they're very rythmic, like 2/sec). I'm pretty sure that all connections were properly made and I'm leaning on this being a software related issue rather than hardware. If anybody has any clue as to why this is happening, or perhaps a few postulates, I would really appreciate any feedback!

Thanks everybody!
Brandon

Brandon,

Have you tried clocking via the BNC cable instead of TDIF? You're best bet is to have a dedicated master clock anyway, but assigning the DM24 as the master clock BNC out to the BNC input of the 2408 (slave) should do the trick.

I had the BNC connection already made. I was fooling around with the software and I think I got it. I increased the buffer for the input from 32 sample/buffer to 256 samples/buffer. That got rid of all the clicks and pops that I was so frequently hearing.
