I am almost completely new to the use of effects, amp modeling and pedals with the electric guitar. My questions about the RP90 probably apply to any such device. I have read through the manual several times, but it clearly assumes I know basics I apparently don't know.

1. The RP90 has a number of effects chain presets to choose from. But what if I simply want to experiment from scratch? Start with a completely clean guitar signal and then add a little overdrive or chorus or echo and then take them off if I don't like them? Am I limited to effects chain presets, or can I simply add an individual effect one at a time? If so, how?

2. The RP90 says it models a variety of classic amps. But, again, can I simply start with a clean unmodeled signal and then change the amp to a Fender Tweed Deluxe? And then take it off and change it to a Twin Reverb, etc. -- without adding any effects at all?

3. Is there an online primer on devices like these, or even specifically on the RP90, that takes an ignoramus like me through the series of buttons and pedals you press to achieve such and such a thing? This manual seems very thin on content.

Thanks.
