Where is the best place for my sub?
Under the desk or behind me?

That question is impossible to answer completely accurately without other information (room size, dimensions, what sub/speakers, treatment of the room, mixing position). Also, information about your setup, what you are using the sub for (2.1, 5.1? Is this pro audio or home theater... etc)

But, to put a start on it -
I would say you probably don't want to put the sub behind you.
Although bass waves are more "omnidirectional" than high frequency waves, keeping it relative to your other speakers won't hurt.

(I use the quotes and that word only as a general explanation, I know its not the proper term, but I feel it fits the purpose)
