usb problems

I have a Quad PC less than a year old. Here is the deal -

My AKAI MPD32 and MPK49 will not power up using USB, even if I use a Powered HUB. I even upgraded the power supply, still nothing. WinXP recognizes it, because the new hardware box appears when I plug it in. But the screen is faint.

If I plug the units in to any othe computer in the studio including a cheese little laptop I have they work fine.

My mouse, keyboard and prokeys88 work just fine through the USB.

Any ideas?

And yes, they do work with their power supplies ~

Does the MPD32 and MPK49 work when you put them on another computer?
Maybe they're defective.
Are you sure they're bus powered and don't need an external supply to operate?

According to the quick start guide, it can run off USB power.
IF you've got anything but your keyboard and mouse powered off the same buss, you may be overloading the buss power.
Have you tried running with the 6vPSU wall wart that came with?
