Hope someone can help.
Starting with a beige G3, 266 mhz, 4GB, running OS 8.1, Cubase 4.1, I'm going to upgrade it with a G4, 500 mhz processor, 40 GB HD, 640 mb ram and OS 9.1
I want to upgrade the audio but don't have a clue as to a compatible sound card to get the most out of the Cubase.
It's a simple studio with midi into modem port, the rca audio input & output and scsi cdrw. I record both electric and miked acoustic bass through a preamp into the rca input.
Any advice out there?
Thanks,

- Yanaki

Since you're USB and FireWire deprived, you're looking at a PCI based solution. I would recomend something from MidiMan, such as the AudioPhile 2496 card. You're using your serial ports for MIDI, so you really don't need a card with midi. The AudioPhile would be my best suggestion to keep the quality good and your investment low.
