Digital Performer Cursor Disappearing

I have Digital Performer 2.6 on an older Mac (7100 with 266 G3 accelerator) that was working perfectly with OS 8.6, but since I installed Norton Utilities 6 I have problems with the cursor disappearing after a few minutes of working.

This is the only program that this happens on, and I have to bring up my FreeMidi configuration to get the cursor back. ( It's real fun to try and click on the little midi icon without being able to see the arrow.)

See if you can find an older version of Norton. 6 is intended for OS 9.x and will do more 'funny' things with your OS. I believe 5 would do just fine. Let me know if you need help locating one.

Try using the Extensions Manager control panel to disable any Norton extensions, like File Saver, Crash Guard, etc. After turning those extensions related to Norton off, restart the computer to make it active. See if that helps.

I usually advise folks not to install Norton Utilities. You can run the Utilties right from the Norton CD.
