I've heard great things about them and that Roger Nichols is using them etc.
Has anyone here used them?

Thanks!

Anyone?
Thanks!

I thought they were amazing when they first came out. I don't think Roger still uses them, but I could be wrong. I think there are a lot of other speakers that compete well with them now, but the HD-1's are still good.

All of Meyer's products (with a couple exceptions that are no longer in production) are well-conceived designs executed with top-quality workmanship by one of the few guys (John Meyer) in the speaker industry who has managed to be absolutely passionate about R&D and producing a better mousetrap, but who has been commercially successful on a large scale as well. Meyer products almost always have fundamentally solid designs that stand the test of time very well. For instance, the basic design of the UPA trap box is almost 30 years old, yet it's still a great, widely-used speaker in its current iteration.
I know that sounds like ad copy, but I'm a big Meyer fan. The HD-1's will not disappoint. There are certainly other, newer designs which are competitive with them, but it's a solid product, and if you can get them at a bargain price, it's a great investment.
I had twice mixed with them and both times thought they provided good imaging , accuracy , a balance spectrum , and where not fatiguing to listen to for long periods of time.
