I'm ever so curious... When I have a footswitch plugged into my S30 in sustain pedal mode, it acts completely opposite of what it is supposed to be, ie, leaving it off sustains while depressing releases sustain. It's as if the polarity of it is reversed... I've tried this with three different "generic" footswitches (one made by Yamaha) and it does the same thing every time. I'm wondering if Yamaha has built in a proprietary scheme with its footswitch jack that I should be purchasing their brand piano-style switch? Or if there is something in the manual that I missed? Or, worst case, the S30 is defective?

Curious...

sounds like you need to switch the polarity on your footswitch. can you do this? We sell a Quik Lok VFP25 which will allow you to do this but there are others out there as well. check it out and see. :bunny:

Aha! Fixed my problem... My generic Polarity Switching pedal had a shorting solder joint... all is right in the world. Thanks Bob!
