Hey Guys,

I've got a song/mix I've been working on and I would say i'm 85% done...... Last night everything was dandy. Saved the ptf file... and exited. Shut down the computer. Woke up this morning and to my suprise... Everytime I try to open the ptf file it gets all the way through and the second it's about to let me do something some windows message pops up and says:

Pro Tools has encountered an error...... it will now close or something close to that effect...

Then it asks me if I want to report it to microsoft. I don't because I do not have internet on my recording comp.

Other ptf files do work with no problem. Not sure whats going on?

Is there way to trouble shoot this. I've done the standard reboot etc.

Windows XP
2.6 Dual Core
3.5 Gig Ram
PT Le 7.3
Anything else you need let me know! Much Love!!

Try opening the most recent backup file.

Yeah,

Unfortunetaly... I all ready tried that, sorry forgot to post it.

What things can I do to isolate the problem to figure out what it is.

I know that it's this ptf file...... but not sure why.

Well you could try opening it on someone else's system.

Does the error message give you a number like -7748 or something like that?

Hey Guys,

I've got a ptf file that is all of the sudden giving me an application error as soon as I open it.

Waves 4.05dll is the application error that keeps popping up.

That's the application error that keeps popping up and is keeping from getting to my mix.

I tried deleting the waves cache for the file.. BUT I"M REALLY NOT THAT TECH SAAVY... trying to learn.

Is there anyway I can fix this and save the session?

Thank you for your help!

Sounds like your problem may be with that... I don't think Waves v4 is compatible with 7.3.

Is there a way to delete that off my computer then?

I had no idea.

Thanks for all your help so far bro!
