I produced a 1st attempt demo of a cover tune with only my K26X and vocals and some comments from listeners eluded to the fact that the guitar sounds very "synthy" and "midi-ish". Is there anything that can be done with the stock samples on a Kurzweil K26 series to give the "Steel str Gtr" program #66 patch a "Reality check"? Listen for yourselves if you have the time. Mike Martin sir,...would LOVE to hear from you as well. Thanks in advance to all!!! Sincerely ---LEE

there used to be a product called the digitar for helping keyboard players voice guitars the way a guitarist would. you may look for a used one of those. also, I'd jump deeply into learning how to program the K2600 since it is so flexible and really is a blank pallet just waiting for the "artist" to create exactly what he/she needs. We do sell some great instructional disks from Synth Tek that help in the learning process. also, if you want great guitar samples, our own Sweetwater Guitar CD is phenomenal! :smokin:

Hey Roland, thanks alot. This is what I have heard in the past while searching the net, and here I am again listening to these neat guitar sounds. I have a K2600X. What do I need to use these sounds? All I have is the K26 which I maxed out with program RAM and it came with a 72 pin SIMMS that I installed. Thanks, LEE :)

Hi Lee,
I load sounds in by using a CD burner connected to one of the two SCSI-1 25-pin connectors located on the back of the K2600. You may want to call them but they supply some helpful info at this link. http://www.sonicimplants.com/sonickurzweil/downloadinfo.htm
I hope this helps. Take care.

You may also want to explore the FARM disks that come with the K2600, as well as the Kurzweil FTP site -
