I'm looking to grab a direct in converter box but have absolutly no clue what to look for in it. I mainly go line in with bass tracks ( everything else is mic-ed- ) What is a good one out there for a good price ?

Countryman - clean
A Designs RED DI - tone
BSS - clean and indestructible.
But you should also check out the Radial stuff. Good combination of quality build, good sound etc. for the money.

Avalon U5 is killer for bass tracks...
Jensen transformers in the Radial passive boxes. Deane Jensen forgot more about audio transformer interfacing than most Electrical Engineers I've ever met. One heck of a great guy, too. Miss him a lot.

I know Dale at Old School Audio started out with Jensens but switched when they stopped making them in the US and started ghost manufacturing in China. Not sure if there's a real quality difference but to my knowledge Jensen isn't making any transformers here in the states anymore. If anyone can confirm or rebuke that I'd appreciate it.
