Hi Shroud,

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks! It's fun to be a part of this forum. I try to visit as often as I can. I enjoy sharing knowledge with other musicians.

Best regards,

I have Cakewalk Sonar; I don't have time during the day to call tech support and my emails don't seem to be descriptive enough, so let me try this on you:

I have a midi with 20 tracks. 9 of them are musical tracks, and 11 of them are signature tracks, or extraneous tracks that the author slipped in so that he could get his name out there.

The problem is that when I delete the extra tracks so that I can convert the midi file to SMAF (my SMAF does not allow more than 16 tracks) my midi to SMAF converter tells me that there are more than 16 tracks (when there are obviously only 9) and that it was unable to convert them all.

Is there something in the program that is keeping count of the number of tracks in the MIDI? Might it be telling my SMAF converter that there are still 20 tracks? Must I change this manually?

Thanks for your help.
