I'm thinking of selling my VS-880, and wanted to know if the files are recorded in .wav, so that I can take the hard drive, and dump all the info to my computer so that I can sell it cleaned off. HELP! Thanks

You can save them a couple ways. If you have there Q drive you can save them in data format to recall as seperate tracks later. or just use the digital or analog outs and hook the unit up to any cd burner. The file will be saved in whatever format the burner supports.

I think what i'm getting at is, how is the data on the hard drive recorded? Are they .wav files? are they in a format that the vs880 only understandS? I don't need to worry about getting the data from the vs880 later, Im selling it. I want to transfer the tracks to my computer.

You got it, You can not put it on your computer in track form very easy. I have put some tracks in Cakewalk thru my soundblaster live card (midi &digital connections) but it was a real pain and I did never try to rework the tracks. Most stand alone DAWS do not support or import other formats. I think the only way you can get them on your computer is in a .wav file (2 stereo tracks). Your computer alone will not accept the data in track form.
