Hello everyone. I'm fairly new to this forum, but as for using forums, i'm nota no0b lol. Anyways, the stuff I use are a 5 year old Sony Vaio PC, M-Audio PreMobile USB Interface, Audio Technica Condenser mic, and of course, Adobe Audition 1.5.Now, before I bought my M-Audio or Condenser mic, I used to record with a cheap 20 dollar Dynamic Mic which I bought from RadioShack. When I recorded with that, everything ran smooth, no click noises on the mic, nothing, it was perfect. Now, when I got the M-Audio and condenser mic, like I'm going through alot of major problems. First thing is that when I record, it skips sometimes, and like say I recorded at 0:15...when I play it back...It comes in 0:19 or maybe even less or more.I really want to record music so bad, and I'm wondering how I can solve this issue. I know that It has something to do with buffer size and whatnot, but the thing is that there are so many buffer sizes in Adobe Audition in the settings that it's really complicated for me to find out. So my problems are delay in time, slow reaction in playback, and when I record, it clicks sometimes and skips. Can anybody help me out? I really need help.- Thank You

could be a lack of ram issue (2 gig min). . also is it a high track count ? maybe you are using alot of effects in the nondestructive multitrack mode as some of the big reverb effects are cpu gluttons . . if so, try locking the effects of the track . .or use less cpu hungry reverbs . . easy to check just remove the effects . . does the problem still exist ? At any rate I speculate that you may have inadvertently tweeked yourself into this problem . Can you return to the default session or last resort reload the program . .

Sandman, this may be a driver issue. What happens when you adjust the latency on the Mobile Pre?

Sandman3000 , It's a latency issue. The computer you're using is too old. I had the same issues using an older computer with newer hardward/software. I recently grabbed a Mac Mini and Motu 8 pre and noticed that when comparing the new computers performance , that that lagging when you hit record is a latency issue. If you upgraded ( better yet ) sprung for a new computer it would be an amazing difference.
Also to fix the crackleing you hear when you record. Invest in a hardcore Power Supply ( surge protector ) . I recently bought the $150.00 on this site with the digital filters and whatnot and have lost all those crackeling problems in the recordings.
