I'm just wondering if I can use Pro Tools LE with a Echo sound card?

Groupout - sorry, ProTools LE (if you notice) is usually packaged with some sort of audio card/interface (M-Box, Digi001 & 002, etc)

You may be able to get it to work with Protools Free, but Protools LE only works with the particular Digidesign interface that it ships with. So essentially, No, it won't work with the echo card.

you have to register to download it, and it currently does not run under Windows XP or MacOS X yet.

No problem groupouts, we're happy to help.

I tried PT Free on my home PC system, it didn't care for my audio card, so I haven't fiddled too much with it. If PTfree doesn't work for you, for basic editing I suggest Audacity. you can get it at:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net
It's free, and a bit limited in features, but it works well on several platforms. For the price, it's a great piece of software.
