I have begun my foray into home audio recording using my laptop. It lacks a Line-In, so I did a search for USB devices and found USB Audio Interfaces, but they are more than I actually need. I just need a line-in. Anybody know of such a thing?
Here's one idea.

I have seen the M-Audio stuff. They look nice, but they also seem to be a bit more than what I am needing. At its simplest, I just want to connect one thing to my laptop. That thing in the near future will either be a cassette deck so I can record old tapes to CD. I want to preserve the stereo of the music so I want to avoid the mic port.
I also have a Yamaha DD-5 that was given to me a birthday present way back in the 80's (I will be 37 this year, the 80's was a good decade for music) and it has a MIDI OUT and PHONO OUT (for head phones or line out). Thus, I am also checking out the USB MIDI interfaces.
I have a feeling I might save myself some money by picking up a used USB audio interface mini mixing board off eBay.
