View Full Version : Which CS model?

Hi, all.

I'm looking at the CS "Tower+" and the "Rack," and am seeking input as to the appropriateness of my choice. I'm primarily a composer/arranger, running SONAR Home Studio (soon to upgrade to more expansive version of SONAR) and Sibelius. However, I am going to be working on "recording" my charts with VIs and some audio tracking. I don't see any projects taking up more than a couple of dozen audio tracks, once MIDI tracks are re-recorded - at least not right away. So here are my questions:

1. Assuming I have a couple of VI libraries (and I can't afford any of the massive, $25 million Symphonic libraries, as much as I would like to have them...), are these two CS choices adequate? Are they too much?

2. It is my understanding that, should my collection of VI libraries and other plug-ins grow very significantly, I can add another hard drive. But would the processor still be up to the task? Can that be upgraded as well?

3. Do the CS models come in mauve? My wife is very conscious of color coordination. :D

4. I also understand that Sweetwater guarantees that anything I produce on a CS machine will be a massive hit and make me HUGE chunks of money. Is this correct? ;)

Many thanks...
Jerry

If your choice is between the Tower Plus and the Rack, then rest assured that both should be equal to the task at hand. Internally, they're the same machine. These two models share the same components, and the only difference is the form factor (rack vs. tower).

These machines should both work great for what you're describing, and the 2.66 GHz Core 2 Duo will give you plenty of performance.
If you do need to upgrade anything, either chassis can accept more hard drives, or external devices. If you want to eventually change out the CPU, you can, the motherboard supports up to the current series of Core 2 Quad CPU's. (though I don't think you'll need to upgrade for a while)
Our service department can quote upgrades and install them for you when needed.

All Creation Station models come in fashionable silver and black, which really goes with about anything. :)

As for the last point, no promises, we can supply the processing power, you supply the talent, and we'll see where we end up.

One option is needed for that.
