I have a Terratec EWS88MT. Right now I have a Pine PIII/500MHz that I want to upgrade. Do I just go up in PIII or should I do P4?
I was looking at the following P4 boards:
MSI Ultra ARU
Asus P4B533-E
Epox 4g4a+
Oh these all have RAID for mirroring.
:(

Have you asked Terratec what they know works? I'm personally an AMD guy, but Asus has the name and my MSI is working great for me. Both of those companies are Tier 1 manufacturers which means they sell over 10 million or billion units yearly (huge difference, I know). About 3 times more than tier 2 manufacturers and their are maybe 3 to 6 tier 1 manufacturers.
As for which route to take for upgrading, how much more do you want to get out of your system? How much do you want to spend? What kind of RAM is in your current system? If I was making a major upgrade, and I thought Intel wasn't a bunch of marketing wizards (not saying that they aren't also technology wizards), I would go to a P4 on a motherboard that supported DDR-SDRAM with an Intel or SiS chipset. As it stands, most of Intel's marketing makes me feel like this guy
