I'm looking to purchase a new device for live recording backup. Current candidates are:
Tascam DP02 8 (40 gb, 2-track simultaneous recording)
Zoom HD8CD (80 gb, 2-track simultaneous recording)
Fostex MR8HD (40 gb, 4-track simultaneous recording)
I'm leaning towards the Fostex b/c it's ~$100 cheaper than the other two, and I'm not looking to do mixdown on the multi-track device - just for backup if my DAW crashes.
What are your thougths? Have any other suggestions around $500?
