I'm looking into buying a pair of the peavey PR 12"s and the PR Subs..Total cost new is $1000..Does anyone have any first hand experience with these speakers??? I'd love some insight.
Or, anything comparable for the $$

Dan: Looks like you have gotten no responses. I will give you my $.02, even though we use the bigger brother to the unit you wish to purchase...

Our small sound company uses the Peavey PR15 Neo (unpowered) as part of our arsenal. They have performed well for us. The latest venue was a small private school, where the Neo's provided FOH duties for the show, 'Thoroughly Modern Millie.' Because of space and architectural strictures, the positioning of the Neos necessitated some creative thinking. The complex lyric structure of the songs demanded that the high end be clean, and not harsh. I walked around during the performances, and was satisfied with the fine coverage provided by the high frequency drivers. The bass was adequate, without a sub. You are looking at the 12" version, but the 15's have been well worth their very fair cost. Their durability and incredibly light weight are appreciated... These units were purchased because of their low cost. They have been a pleasant surprise to us, in all ways.

Best.

Thanks for the $.02 Byll. I ordered the PR12's and the PR Sub's today, should have them early next week..Just in time for my Thursday night gig. I'm switching from an original set of Elite 1000's (Pigs to haul around) Hoping the Peavey's will sound as good and be as easy to use...

Thanks Again
