I am assuming that H.ED is fine and Pro is not needed but I want to be for sure before I replace the 2005 Media Center ED.of XP.
Any help would be great!

For audio they're functionally the same.
Pro has more networking administration and remote desktop features, and has support for multiple CPU sockets. (server class motherboards)
Home works fine for the average user, and supports multi-core CPU's just fine.

I can't help you with home edition, but I immediately replaced Media Center with XP Pro when I bought my PC and it works great running both Pro Tools 7.1 M-Powered and Pro Tools 7.1 LE. Tony
If you are inputting audio via firewire in Service Pack 2, keep in mind that in some cases you may need to install a Hotfix patch from Microsoft to get it to work at the right speed. The patch name is KB885222.
If it works fine don't touch it.

Pro is only needed if you need to connect to more than 5 computers on your home network.
Home is perfectly adequate (and tons better than Media Center....)
