Is this true that M-Audio products don't last long? Someone said that they got 10 keyboards and only 1 worked perfectly fine and others were defected. I need to know this since if My BX5a monitors arent that good then probley I should get the Edirol MA-15D since they told me that Edirol and Roland are much better brand and they had no problems.

I've heard similar stories and I've always had a stigma against M-Audio for some reason. But I've never bought any of their stuff so it's safe to say that asking someone you know who already has bought their stuff is a lot better than asking a guitar center sales associate. One thing to note is that I've also been told that the BX5A monitors have a really good flat sound and aren't buffed up with extra bass or anything like that. I haven't heard them but will be testing out some monitors for my studio at some local stores. I'll let you know what I find.

The only M-Audio products I've really used that much have been the Delta 66 card which I've used for almost 6 years without a single problem and the Uno USB MIDI interface which I use on my laptop from time to time and it always works without a hitch.

I've never used their keyboards so I can't speak for them but the hardware I have used has been great.

I've had great success with my M-Audio gear. I have owned a pair of the BX8's for reference monitoring for over 5 years, they have never let me down and were made by the original Midi Man manufrs pre Digi by-out, also have the Profire Lightbridge ( I bought it when it first came out no reviews), and this unit also works great, I have it working with my HD24XR for lightpipe conversion, and the Asio drivers are solid. Hope this helps.

Well I did notice that the Roland DS-30A cost more than the BX5a but is the Roland DS-30A better monitor overall? I can trade with mine and get the Roland DS-30A monitors if I wanted to. There is a local dealer that says I can trade my stuff like monitors with something else.

1 out of 10, I don't buy that. I've had great luck w/ M-Audio keyboards. I gave my roommate my old Oxygen 8 last year, it's gotta be or 6 years old and still works great. I have an Axiom 49 now and love it. You may here more about problems with M-Audio devices more simply because they outsell everybody else several times over.

My 1st M-Audio product was a PCI sound card for my computer (Revolution 7.1) and I have had it for about 3yrs and it still works great! I am glad that I went with it over Creative Labs sound cards as to me they just seem to be over hyped especially with all the added software and whatnot and personally I think the M-Audio cards sound better. The ASIO drivers are rock solid and when using it with Reason 3.0 on my PC I can set my buffer to 512 and only see a latency of 11ms which in my opinion is very good for a sound card. The only problem I have with M-Audio in regards to this product is that they still haven't made any drivers for Vista but since I don't like Vista and don't plan on upgrading to it anytime soon this all works out for me.

My 2nd M-Audio product was the Axiom25 Midi Controller. It was my very first time buying a midi controller and I couldn't have gone with a better choice it was built like a tank and did everything I would ask of it to do and after a year of use I upgraded to the Axiom49 which I have had for about 6months now and I have love it to death. I do plan on upgrading to the new AKAI MPK49 but it's only because of a few extra features and is easier to control and program in my opinion.

I also have a cousin who uses the BX5's and he has had them since 2003 and they are still going strong to this day. They are starting to lack a little bit of bass response but after beating the hell out of them the my cousin does for as long as he has it is to be expected. Plus, I am used to listening to my Samson R6a which are bigger and a lot more accurate so I tend to be a bit bias in the area but I will say this though... when I was looking to buy my 1st set of monitors the M-Audio's were my original choice until I heard my Samsons and the only reason why I went with the Samsons was because of the ribbon tweeters. Other than that I would have choose the M-Audio's hands down.

Do your research and go to M-Audio's website and read about the professional artists who swear by their products. Earth Wind and Fire, Black Eyed Peas, and numerous others. I think you will find that M-Audio is more than just a good company they also make good products and now that they are a part of Avid I think they will become even better!
