This thread started as a response to a very innocent statement by Chrisw198:
this smily is awesome:bunny:
It doesn't really answer Chris's question about studio salaries, so I split it off to another thread. So, without any further delay, I give you the infamous Smily Thread...
this smily is awesome:bunny:
I agree.

Sid,
A lot of those are just over the top, but they are cool, huh? You may want to note that you can't see this guys caption on the white background. And he's mad about it!

I did a quick edit to him. Black text. Take it if you want it. Let me know either way so I can take it off of my site (no real rush).

Real fun stuff guys, but help me out. I've tried dragging & dropping, copying, typing the code I see when I open them in another app - but I still can't get them into my posts! I'm just a simple schmuck with a recording studio; I don't have a website or know anything about HTML and such (& I don't wanna know). I'd just like to be able to use the smilies...

If you are talking about the ones one this site, just click on them when your cursor is poisitioned where you want it. And make sure "Disable Smilies" isn't checked. If you want to put one in from another site, copy the entire URL to the smiley, press the IMG button above this message box (the standard reply message box on a separate page, not the fast reply at the bottom of the thread), and paste the URL into the box that pops up.
 Still my favorite.

In Sweetwater's forums, its as simple as clicking on one of those similies over on the left-hand side of the screen while you are typing your post, or you can manually type in the code for it, such as ":(" for a sad face, ":bananna:" for the dancing bananna, ":classic:" for the "I'm With Stupid" guy, etc. You shouldn't have to resort to HTML code.
I can't speak for other forums, though, and it isn't easy (or downright impossible) to use our smilies on forums that don't support them.

Have they created an animated gif with some sort of switch setable cycle time? I'd really like to set the banana guy to dance to my tempo, maybe my mood tempo. :smokin:

It wouldn't be that bad, would it? I mean, lots of fruit effectively has an exoskeleton, and most people don't eat the core of an apple or pear or the seed in a peach or cherry. I agree that it would be freaky if the next banana you bought had bones...
Back to the dancing bananas  I could almost forget about this hurricane coming to visit if he would just sync to the Zeppelin on the radio right now (whole lotta love (a guitar goes) hmmmm - how do you draw guitar sounds?).

Put on a recording of everbody's disco classic, "YMCA" by the Village People. Then watch the dancing bananna. The tempo is a perfect match! (at least on my computer) Kinda like that thing with Pink Floyd and "The Wizard of Oz." Pretty freaky, huh? I sat and stared at the computer screen watching it for what seemed like hours. Better entertainment than anything on TV.

Bunnies are cuddly... Bunnies are cute... They're never nasty or mean.
I'd give a home to all the lost bunnies, if ever one day I were queen...
