I am creating a little home studio. i bought these:

- Creamware pulsar II adat
- RME ADI 8 DS
- Mackie 1604
- AT 4040, Rode NT5, Shure 57, Senheiser MD 441, AKG D112 etc...

I don't have monitors for now but i am planning to buy Tannoy 600 or 800.

I have only one room, and i am drummer too, so for now it serves only to play drums and guitar sometimes...

I don't know how to organise all the room to place my monitoring position. The piece could be seen like a live-end/dead-end, and it will really be when there will have real acoustic products like auralex/scv.

The (A) part is the 'live' end, and (B) is the 'dead' end. It work pretty good for playing drums, but i think the best monitoring position is the actual position of the drums. The problem is : if i move the drums, i loose definition for recording, and if i place the monitors in the (A) part, i have bad reflections that disturb the stereo field !

So if you have any suggestions ( cheap ) ...

PS: i hope this is clear, because i'm very bad in english and there is not any french forum for this purpose.

Here is the room:

I did not mention it, but the monitoring for tracking is made outside of this room, on smaller monitors.

here is a first solution : during the mix, the drums are covered with blankets ( work well ) or removed.

I'll admit, I'm impressed. I haven't seen many people put this kind of effort into getting a great sounding room. This is one of the most important aspects of any studio, but it is frequently overlooked until the very end of the process or ignored altogether. You are clearly two steps ahead of the game.

Your layout looks good. You've evidently gone to the trouble to research the science of acoustics a little bit.
