Hey everyone,

I have been a drummer for about 15 years, but haven't ever really gotten into the whole deal with drum machines and sequence loops (playing live). I recently got some extra money and started looking into the whole set up, but stuff on the internet is hard to find. :scared:

I want to be able to have some sort of drum module next to me with ports in the back for connecting rubber pad drum triggers that I can place about my acoustic kit. I want to have (idealy) a dedicated volume slider for each drum trigger (sliders on the module) and be able to plug the module into a computer via usb so that I can put on my own loops. I want to be able to hit a pad that has been assigned a loop once and have it play the loop till i hit it again and turn it off. And, i would love to be able to change what each pad is assigned on the fly. I'm sure this is possible and the equipment is out there, but I dont know what I need, where to find it, and what the prices are. I'm on a pretty modest budget, so inexpensive is the key, but i will sacrafice price for functionality and quality if thats what it takes.

Thanks!

Seth

I am just about to do the same thing that you are looking for, by buying the Roland SPD-S sampler. It has 9 pads, which all can be triggered separately, and triggered on and off with a hit of the stick, plus the advantage of being able to not only use the pre-programmed stuff, but easily sample either by mic or line....any other sound or program you like plus full midi capability too. It's only $495 too...if that fits in with your budget(remember, there are 9 triggers(6 pads and 3 edge triggers) so you won't have to pay for pads or mounts). Go to RolandUS.com and check out the video....it's an incredible machine....Mine is arriving next week!
