I need to more about bass drops. Like what they really are, how to create them, what to use to create them, and specific brands and model numbers of gear to make them.

any bass guitar + a cheap strap will inevitably result in a bass drop.

Not sure about Bass "drops" but maybe that's a synonym for Bass Traps...
Here's a site and a the video I used to make some of mine.
http://www.radford.edu/~shelm/acoustics/bass-traps.html and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyYUpkpL0gw
If this 'is' the info you're looking for I suggest wearing a disposable body suit if you plan to use rock wool for insulation... itchiest material made!

Actually I suspect the OP was referring to some musical component used in UDM or Electronica...like the subsonic, pitched equivalent of a "breakbeat" perhaps? Not sure. But in any case, I agree it would be prudent for him to wear a disposable body suit. Can't make cool music if ya don't look cool, and what could be cooler looking than some guy in his bedroom studio hunched over a laptop wearing a disposable body suit?
